WILLIAM (RAYMOND) LITTLE March 27, 1921 - June 17, 2011 Sadly, we announce the peaceful passing of Ray Little at Kildonan Personal Care Home on Friday, June 17, 2011. Left to celebrate his life and memory are children Joan (Bernie) and Catherine (Lindsay), special nephew Dan (Viv), grandchildren Derek, Jordie (Shannon), Shaelyn and Janelle, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife of 23 years, Cecilia in 1969, and his second wife of 31 years, Dorothy in 2005. Ray, the middle of five children, grew up in Norwood and attended Nelson McIntyre Collegiate. Upon his graduation, Ray took up a career in Accounting and Bookkeeping, working at Crane Industries and Banville Building Supplies. He was a strong believer in giving back to the community and in his retirement, spent countless hours volunteering for numerous organizations. An avid sports fanatic, Ray was interested in all sporting events whether it be participating or watching on TV. In his earlier years, he especially enjoyed speed skating, baseball, bowling, curling, football, golfing and hockey. Ray especially enjoyed spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Ray was a long time parishioner of St. Vital Parish in Fort Garry and an Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus - Fourth Degree, Council 1107. Ray loved to travel and was fortunate enough to be able to travel many parts of the worlds with Dorothy and spent many winters together in Victoria. Special thanks to the staff at Kildonan Personal Care Centre for their care and support over the past five months. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. A celebration of Ray's life will be held on Friday, June 24, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, with a reception to follow.
